LATEX MODIFIED CONCRETE, WATERPROOF BRIDGE DECK CONSTRUCTION
In South Korea, as well as in the United States, the use of latex modified concrete (LMC) with polymeric latex is a solution adopted for a long time to preserve the carriageable part of bridges and overpasses from freezing/thawing cycles, from the chemical attack of salt and in general from water infiltration. In fact, latex polymers form an impermeable film that prevents infiltrations and consequently problems related to breakage and premature aging of the structure.
In Seoul, a Kimera SMALL plant equipped with a latex pump produces concrete for road and infrastructural works. The extreme mobility and versatility of the truck mounted equipment make it an indispensable mean for the production of this special blend.
